Someone done stole my picture and bandwidth! Irritating HTML 1.0

Last month, I discovered that someone was helping themselves to my Golden Chick icon (left). Not only were they helping themselves to my icon, they were using my blog as an image hosting site!
For readers who are not familiar with this, I will explain. The short version:
An image's file can be big or small, dependent upon picture size and complexity. And, an image file can be viewed in one place, even though the actual file "lives" elsewhere. So, you can put a copy of my entire ChickenPic file on your site, taking up a bunch of your website's space, or you can put code in your site that says "look at the Chicken Picture that is on BrennerWorld", which takes up only the room of the code that says to do that on your site, but uses MY bandwidth when someone looks at YOUR site.
When you do that, I have to pay every time someone looks at the chicken picture on your site, since your chicken picture is really on MY site. NOT FAIR!
Here's where it gets fun! If you do not put the real file on your site, then you are at my mercy. 'Cause basically all you can do is link to a file name. And I can name any file on my site anything I like!
So, what I call "ChickenPic.jpg" today can be something totally different tomorrow.
Lesson two to follow. Stay tuned!
