View Article  Great use of an AMC Pacer

We spotted this '70s AMC Burgermobile in Tucson, Arizona (note: lush desert landscape in foreground). Had we been there a while longer, we may have patronized Little Anthony's Diner. Though we can't vandalize it by cramming a fish or banana in the tailpipe, we can all at least appreciate this picture.

We were in the power tools department over at Home Depot the other day, where I spotted this awesome deal!

We don't have a tool that these will fit on, but who in their right mind would pass these up? The packaging alone is worth more than we paid for the whole thing!

I think it would be fun to return them for a refund.

...to dust off what we call the Little Satan Ice Cream Maker.

I know it's that time, because David emailed me a link with this picture, instead of a picture of a pepper mill candidate, which is what we were actually shopping for (we do a lot of internet shopping).

"Why name it 'Little Satan'?", you may be wondering

"R2D2", while approprate, was already taken by another appliance. And, after seeing what this little device will do to one's diet intentions, "Little Satan" seemed to fit so well.

I have a vague and distant childhood memory of an ice cream-making device that my dad had, that utilized a miniature wooden bucket, rock salt, and a broken electric stirring thing. I remember yelling "Let's make ice cream!" and then we would go buy some.

Store bought ice cream used to come in three flavors: chocolate, neopolitan, and rocky road for the adventurous types. I remember my dad used to let us pick, as long as it was neopolitan. It used to all come in those rectangular brick-like cartons, and at Grandma's house she would unfold the wax-coated cardboard and cut us a "slice" of ice cream, which was just a little weird.

Yay for Little Satan!
