What's not to like, I ask? It has it all: security fence, jumbo deluxe for sale sign in two languages, and oodles of curb appeal. And with that salmon paint job, "cheerful" comes to mind.

To be quite honest, it is getting harder to find a hood home of the week so this week's entry concludes our series.

With that burden lifted, watch soon for a new installment of Chicken Icon!

While on a road trip through Texas, it dawned on me that most fast food chicken icons have no clue as to why they are icons. This week, let's examine Golden Chick. Just look at him. Look at the big smile. He is almost gloating. He looks kind of smarmy, "I am so popular," he thinks. "They love me so much that they put me on this restaurant sign!" They do love you, Golden Chick. They love to bread you, then fry you in a vat of hot oil. Then they love to eat you. Golden Chick thinks he looks smart in those nifty glasses. If he were smart, he wouldn't be hanging around.

Get more bang for your mortgage buck with this beauty in Compton, California. 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, and 1081 square feet, all for only $279,999!

The ad states, ...Gorgeous Chandeliers And Wait Until You See The Rest.... "The Rest" may be that truck with the decorative bed cover parked on the yard, or if you squint perhaps you can see the mattress near the front door.

I guess with SoCal real estate as it is you really don't need more than a curb to have curb appeal.

But, what was the person taking the picture thinking???

Every once in a while I look at the price of real estate in California just so I know there is no way I will ever be going back there.

I heart Texas!

Viking Kittens sing (and act) the Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin

A friend of mine showed me this flash video a while ago. This was after he told me he was of Nordic descent.

This is one of the many creative, um, creations of one Joel Veitch. You can see more of his stuff at rathergood.com. Some of this stuff is inappropriate for children. And some of it is inappropriate for humans. Some of it is just stupid....and some of it is, well, rather good. My wife particularly enjoys the Beatles parody (I rather like it, too).

Don't forget to purchase some Viking Kitten stuff.

DOH!

I have been checking out squirrels as pets. After some investigation, this just doesn't seem like a very good idea. They aren't exactly domesticated, and face it, you can't trust them: "The Richardson's Ground Squirrel can and will bite if it is so inclined. They will often growl when upset. If this happens avoid quick movements until it calms down."

Just a minute here.

"...avoid quick movements until it calms down..."

This just doesn't sound like something that needs to be on the loose in the house.

Here is a link to a cool skwerl game. Watch it though, 'cause it is addicting!

Scarysquirrel.org is pretty fun just to browse about, and that is where the cool skwerl fight picture came from.
